Home Equity Assistance

For over three years, members have been quietly and patiently going through the bureaucracy hoping that the obvious errors would be corrected by leaders, politicians and staffers. Unfortunately, the only thing that has changed are the people making those bad decisions.

On being HOME…

Posted: April 30, 2013 in Opportunity

Here's the thing.....

I never thought the day would come that I would be sitting here writing to you  about how we made it home. It really did not hit me until we were on the plane, cruising along when the Captain said, ” We are entering American airspace, welcome to the United States of America“. I did not expect the tears of excitement that we flowing down my face as I stared out the window of the plane.

We had been planning this for months, dare I say ever since we got to Germany we  had been planning on our trip back to the States. There is just something about being in your own country. I know that if you have been reading this blog that we really enjoyed being in Europe, we traveled, we learned new stuff and even got frustrated with a few things. Overall, we enjoyed being in Europe…

“Relationships that thrive tend to communicate easily in an ongoing, flowing manner,” says Seth Eisenberg, President/CEO of the nonprofit PAIRS (“Practical Application of Intimate Relationship Skills”) Foundation in Hollywood, Florida.

Virginia Satir, considered the “Mother of Family Therapy” defined five freedoms vital to intimate relationships. Eisenberg says these five freedoms are an important foundation of PAIRS relationship skills classes and training programs taught throughout the country.

Chaplains Clyde Angel and Dick Millspaugh, Chiefs of Chaplain Services for the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis and the San Diego VA Healthcare System, respectively, will host nearly 50 VA professionals for four days in Indiana later this month for certification training to integrate PAIRS classes into community programs to help Veterans strengthen close relationships and more successfully reintegrate into their homes, communities and civilian jobs. You can watch LIVE today (April 17, 2013)  at 1:45 p.m. as Maryland’s governor signs a law that makes it easier for military service members, veterans and their spouses obtain state credentials and licenses.

Qualifying for state professional licenses and credentials from teaching certificates to real estate licenses in each of the 50 states is a common problem for active duty military and their families who have to move (PCS-Permanent Change of Station) every few years.

But the Joining Forces initiative, by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden challenged the nation’s governors to pass laws streamlining the licenses and credentials process for military families in all states by 2015.

During the LIVE EVENT, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will sign the state’s Veterans Full Employment Act of 2013.

Maryland’s Veterans Full Employment Act of 2013 sets a national standard for state legislation, streamlining the ability for service…

WOW!

Home Equity Assistance

146 of 146 military families were systemically denied their entitlements by the Crown. The research is done, the application for Federal Court is drafted but the one person moving this forward is already financially destroyed. Because the affected members are financially devastated, there is no opportunity to get this to Federal Court (the next and final stage in the resolution of the issue). This is also a clear demonstration, that CF members grieving a TBS controlled policy, cannot get justice as they are financially limited.I have a few options remaining, and will be taking it to Federal Court regardless, but it would be best if I did not have to disadvantage my family any further (financially).Updates are regularly posted to http://healoss.wordpress.com/ which has quite a following and has all media releases, press coverage and a good taste of evidence, but without any assistance it is pretty difficult to get any…

A Wall Full of Heroes

Posted: April 30, 2013 in Opportunity

Alert! Alert! Our elementary school is filled with Heroes! And this banner on the wall is proof of it!

When Mother Goose first approached Whittier Elementary School principal, Carol Young, with the project shown above, we were both thinking that we might end of with two, maybe three pictures on the wall. What a wonderful surprise to learn of so many families in our school with military connections!

We have students with sailors, airmen, and Army soldiers in their immediate and extended families! We have men and women stationed around the world, even in Afghanistan! We have officers and military police within our Whittier ranks!

It just fills Mother Goose with pride to see the families represented around about this banner, and what a great reminder that America is strongly defended by service members from our own neighborhoods and communities.

Operation Military Kids is a nationwide organization that provides support…
